In Loving Memory

William “Bill” Farris passed away on October 21, 2026, just one day after celebrating his 85th birthday. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who loved him dearly, and a legacy of kindness that will never be forgotten.

Bill was a truly special man with a heart bigger than words could ever describe. He was caring, kind, and the type of person who seemed to know just about everyone. There wasn’t a mean bone in his body. He loved big, cared deeply, and had a way of making people feel welcome and important. If someone needed him, he was there. His kindness was genuine, his heart was generous, and the love he gave so freely touched more lives than he probably ever realized.

Bill spent much of his working life laying carpet, but he was never the kind of man who could simply sit around and do nothing. He always had to be doing something, keeping busy, and finding the next thing to work on. Sitting still just wasn’t in his nature. He was a hardworking man who found purpose in staying active, helping others, and making the most of his days.

One of the greatest parts of Bill’s life was the love story he shared with his beloved wife, Reeta. The two met in 1988 and married in 1990, beginning a life together that would become an example of true love to everyone around them. They did everything together. Where one went, the other was sure to follow. They shared life’s everyday moments, made memories side by side, and showed the people around them what it meant to choose one another every single day.

Their love wasn’t just something they talked about; it was something everyone could see. They were partners, best friends, and each other’s favorite person. Whether they were heading out for breakfast or ending the morning with a trip to the casino, they found joy in simply being together. Those little traditions were part of what made their relationship so special. They didn’t need anything extravagant to be happy; they had each other, and that was what mattered most.

Bill’s love for Reeta was a beautiful reminder that true love is found not only in the big moments, but also in the everyday routines, shared laughter, familiar faces, and years spent building a life together. Their story is one that will continue to inspire the family they built and everyone who had the privilege of witnessing their love.

To his family, Bill was so much more than a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was someone they could count on, someone who would show up when they needed him, and someone who made sure the people he loved knew they mattered. He had a special way of caring for others and making memories out of ordinary days. His love and presence were gifts that his family will carry with them forever.

Though saying goodbye to Bill leaves a tremendous emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, there is comfort in knowing that the love he shared with Reeta will never end. After a lifetime of doing everything together, it is comforting to imagine them reunited once more — enjoying a long breakfast, heading off to the casino, and carrying on just as they always did, side by side.

Bill leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by possessions or accomplishments alone. It lives on in the kindness he showed, the people he helped, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His family will forever cherish the memories, lessons, and traditions he left behind.

He was loved deeply, he will be missed endlessly, and his place in the hearts of those who knew him will never be filled.

Those who wish to honor William's memory are invited to plant a tree in their name.
