Reeta Ann Farris, of Neodesha, Kansas, passed away on September 1, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her dearly and countless memories that will be cherished forever. Reeta was born on January 25, 1954, to Fred and Ellen Beckwith. She was a one-of-a-kind woman whose personality could never be mistaken. A funny, outspoken redhead with plenty of spice, Reeta was never afraid to speak her mind. She told it like it was, gave honest advice when it was needed, and had a way of leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Reeta worked at Cobalt Boats for 24 years before retiring due to illness. Throughout her life, she valued the time she spent with her family and the memories made with those closest to her. She especially treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she enjoyed taking casino trips with her husband, Bill. Whether she was sharing advice, making someone laugh, or simply spending time with the people she loved, Reeta had a way of making ordinary moments into memories that would last a lifetime.
In 1988, Reeta began her life with William “Bill” Farris, and the two were married in 1990. Together, they shared 38 years of love, companionship, and memories. Their life together was an important part of Reeta’s story, and the bond they shared will always hold a special place in the hearts of their family.
Family was a meaningful part of Reeta’s life. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved making memories with the generations that followed her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, honesty, and a strong personality that will never be forgotten.
Reeta is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Farris; her children, Timothy Seely, Dewayne Seely, Maranda Cook, and Curtis Seely; her grandchildren, Cole Edwards, Bobbee Johnson, Levi, Bryce Edwards, Justice, Kylie Seely, Cameron, Addison Farmer, and Phoenix Seely; and her great-grandchildren, Colesten Edwards, Cash Edwards, and Paislee Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings, Louise “Weez” Plumley, Andrea “Andy” Berkenmeier, and Allen Huntsinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ellen Beckwith, and her siblings, Fred Beckwith and Jeanne Weber-Wheeler.
Reeta’s passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully describe. Her family will miss her laughter, her straightforward advice, her unmistakable personality, and all the little moments that made her who she was. The memories she created will continue to bring smiles through the tears, and the lessons she shared will live on through the people she loved. Though her time here feels far too short, the love she gave was immeasurable. She will forever be remembered as a woman who lived with personality, spoke with honesty, loved her family, and made life a little more colorful for those around her.
