Virginia Iva Durfee Chastain
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Iva Durfee Chastain, who lived from October 8, 1953 to June 5, 2026 in El Centro. Virgie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Keith and their two sons, Steven and Michael; her parents Robert and Rosie Durfee; sisters, Dee, Bobbie and brothers Bobby and Richard. Virgie is survived by her grandchildren; Mabel, Autumn, Mia, Raine, Keith and Steven Jr, Savanna, Michael and Douglas and sisters; Hope (Cheo), Toni (John) and Kathy (Keith). Virgie had a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. One of her passions was going to the casinos. Virgie loved and missed Bakersfield and her years living there. She will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her and she will be deeply missed.
