In Loving Memory of Alex William Tidwell
Alex William Tidwell, 64, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026. He was born on September 16, 1961, and leaves behind a lifetime of memories, love, laughter, and a family who will forever carry him in their hearts.
Alex was a very outgoing, intelligent, and strong-willed man who lived life on his own terms. He loved his family and his dogs more than anything in the world. He took tremendous pride in his marriage, his work, and in providing for and caring for the people he loved.
For more than 20 years, Alex worked in the watchmaking industry, a career that reflected his intelligence, patience, and remarkable attention to detail. Outside of work, he had many passions. He loved riding motorcycles, homesteading, and writing. He was a man who could appreciate the simple things in life while never being afraid to pursue what mattered to him.
Above all, Alex was known for his generous heart. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. If someone needed help, Alex was there. His generosity, loyalty, strength, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Alex is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Faye Tidwell (Hobby); his father, Billy Tidwell; and his brother, Chris Tidwell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Kathleen Haggstrom Tidwell; He is also survived by his children, Stacy Tidwell, Jessica Tidwell, Justin Tidwell, Cameron Tidwell, Dustin Haggstrom, Candie Lonergan, Nicholas Haggstrom, and Cody Johnson; his sister, Karen Tidwell; his niece, Debra Patton-Shelton; his 34 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
Alex leaves behind a legacy built on family, hard work, generosity, and living life with conviction. Though his absence will be felt deeply, the memories he created and the love he gave will continue through the many people whose lives he touched.
Funeral arrangements will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, in Hampshire, Tennessee, at his home church.
Alex will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and profoundly missed.
