Walter Dewayne DeVaney, a man remembered for his strength, goofy presence, and unwavering resilience, passed away leaving behind a legacy rooted in his love of cars, music and a life lived with his dogs. Known for his youthfulness and goofy self which he approached every day, Walter touched the lives of family, friends, and all who crossed his path. In one way or another.
Born to Shirley DeVaney and Walter DeVaney, both of whom preceded him in death, Walter grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful parts of life. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank DeVaney.
Walter is survived by his devoted wife, Genrita DeVaney; his estranged daughter, Jessica Langton; and three estranged grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Melissa DeVaney; his niece, Jayden Perez; his nephew, Jonah Perez; and his aunts Joanne Rackley Mallon.
Walter’s life was marked by endurance through hardship, his love for trucks, and a steadfast spirit that remained constant even in difficult times. His memory will be carried forward in the stories shared by those who knew him, in the lessons he imparted, and in the lasting imprint of his presence.
