Tanya G Green
In Loving Memory of Tanya Gazette Green
July 25, 1965 – July 30, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tanya Gazette Green, who transitioned from this life on July 30, 2026, shortly after celebrating her 61st birthday. Tanya's passing followed complications of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
While the circumstances of her passing brought her journey to an end far sooner than her family was ready for, Tanya's life was about so much more than how it ended. Hers was a life filled with family, faith, community, resilience, and love.
Tanya was the proud mother of five children: Nekita Patterson Gomez, Daniel Scales, Jennifer Roberts, Jonathan Sergeant, and Tasia Pope. Motherhood was one of the most meaningful parts of her life, and through her children, pieces of Tanya's strength, personality, and spirit will continue for generations.
She was also a loving grandmother to Elise, Leia, and Daniel, who brought a special kind of happiness into her life. The love between a grandmother and her grandchildren creates a bond all its own, and Tanya's grandchildren will miss her presence, her love, and the memories they shared with her terribly.
Her faith played an important role throughout her life. Tanya spent much of her time in church, surrounded by fellowship and a community that became an important part of her world. She valued her relationship with God and the connections she formed through her church family.
Tanya was equally committed to being an active member of her community. She understood the importance of people looking out for one another and believed in showing up, participating, and maintaining meaningful connections with those around her.
Those who knew Tanya will remember her in their own special ways—the conversations, laughter, personality, strength, familiar expressions, and countless ordinary moments that become extraordinary once someone we love is no longer here to share them.
Her family will undoubtedly wish there had been more time. More birthdays. More holidays. More photographs. More conversations. More opportunities to simply pick up the phone and hear her voice.
But grief is also a reflection of how deeply someone mattered.
Tanya leaves behind five children, three grandchildren, extended family, church family, friends, and a community of people whose lives were touched by her presence. Although her physical journey has ended, the relationships she created and the memories she leaves behind ensure that her story continues.
Family and friends are invited to come together to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of Tanya Gazette Green on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Christ Community Ministry Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California.
On that day, we will gather not to define Tanya by the circumstances of her passing, but to celebrate the 61 years that came before it—the woman she was, the people she loved, the faith she carried, and the family that will continue her legacy.
Rest peacefully, Tanya.
May your children carry your strength,
your grandchildren carry your love,
and all who knew you carry your memory.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
