Stephen J. Gallant

December 3, 1948 – October 28, 2026

Stephen J. Gallant, 77, of Bridgewater, Connecticut, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Born on December 3, 1948, in Stamford, Connecticut, Stephen was the son of the late Rose McOwen, formerly of Bethel, Connecticut.

Stephen proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a successful career in sales in the printed circuit board industry. He spent most of his career with Teknicircuits Inc. in Danbury, Connecticut. He was known for his dedication, knowledge, and strong work ethic. He later continued working as a consultant in the printed circuit board industry until just a few years ago.

Above all, Stephen was devoted to his family. He shared 50 years of marriage with his wife, Judith, and took an active role in his children’s lives. His dedication to family extended to his grandson, Leo, who affectionately called him “Mr. Grandfather,” or simply “Mister,” a nickname that became a special part of their relationship.

Stephen’s involvement with his children included a deep commitment to the Boy Scouts, where he dedicated countless hours to mentoring young people and supporting the values of leadership, character, and service. His dedication was recognized with the prestigious Silver Beaver Award, one of Scouting’s highest honors for adult volunteer service.

Stephen served his community by being an integral part of the New Milford Lions Club, where he served as president from 2012-2014 and held several leadership roles throughout the years. He devoted much of his time to the organization’s mission of helping others and giving back to the community.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Judith Gallant; his son, Michael Gallant, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Papale; his daughter, Janelle Uppal, and son-in-law, Cristian Uppal; and his grandson, Leo Uppal.

He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others, and his belief that just about anything could be accomplished with a little determination and hard work.

Family and friends will be invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 12pm-1:30pm, followed by a brief service at the funeral home starting at 1:30pm. Calling hours will be held at the Lillis Funeral Home at 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT 06776.
