I remember the day I met Sarah Voland.....funny and energetic are the words that come to mind, and that is the memory that stays with me. As I was falling in love with her daughter, Sarah always made me feel welcome in their home. She had a way of bringing people together, making everyone feel included, and finding ways to serve. She was nothing like the stereotypical mother-in-law, she was more like a bonus Mom. I always felt her love, support and encouragement. As the grandmother to our children, she and Ken created a "kids’ heaven" at Shell Point and our boys thrived there. Every time they came home from Nana's they had great stories of fun adventures to share, and memories of the delicious food Nana had made. All the while they would also return with something even more important: new lessons, values, and building blocks for their future. Sarah created this for them, and I will be forever grateful, for the loving person you are, and for the wonderful memories we shared. Rest in Peace my new Guardian Angel, I’ll be calling on you. I love you.
