In Loving Memory

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Sofia McGowan, who left this world on November 2, 2026, following a tragic automobile accident. Born on July 6, 1991, in Houston, Texas, Sofia's vibrant spirit and compassionate heart touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her time with us was far too brief, the love she shared and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. A graduate of Nimitz High School in Houston, Texas, Sofia was a proud and devoted homemaker. Her greatest joy was found in nurturing her family, creating a home filled with warmth, love, and happiness. Her legacy is not measured in material accomplishments, but in the boundless love she gave and the beautiful memories she created with those she cherished most.

Sofia was the cherished wife of 13 years to her devoted husband, Archie McGowan Jr. She was the loving mother to two wonderful sons, Aden Polk, 17, and Ahmar McGowan, 15, who were the light of her life. Sofia also leaves behind her amazing sister, Alisha Polk, her incredible aunt, Sandra Galvan, and her loving mother-in-law, Tangelia Broussard. In addition to these cherished family members, a host of other relatives and friends will forever hold her memory dear.

Sofia's kind-heartedness, infectious laughter, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. She was a woman whose presence brought meaning and joy to those around her. Though we struggle to understand why her life was taken so suddenly, we find solace in the lasting impact she made and the love she leaves behind.

Sofia was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Minor, who passed away on February 12, 2015. The love and memories shared between them continue to resonate deeply with Sofia's family.

Those who wish to honor Sophia's memory are invited to plant a tree in their name.
