Robert Stanley Puskarits
A life well lived
It is with a heavy heart that we celebrate the life and legacy of Robert S. Puskarits, who passed away on August 13, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Robert L. Puskarits.
Robert (Bobby) was born on March 4, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, where he spent most of his life. As a student at Saints Cyril and Methodius School and St. Rita High School, Bobby was a gifted athlete and excelled in sports like baseball and basketball. He later attended Lewis University, where he received a degree in Criminal Justice and was a very talented pitcher on the college’s baseball team. One of his many favorite memories was pitching a four-hit shutout against Northern Illinois University during his senior year. After working at the Federal Reserve in Chicago, he spent time as a pit boss in Las Vegas.
Bobby was a vibrant storyteller who loved to reminisce with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and would do anything to help others, whether he knew them or not. Bobby was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, and be there whenever someone needed him. His kindness, generosity, and caring spirit touched the lives of so many. His big heart made him truly special, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Over the course of his life—which his loved ones would agree was cut too short—Bobby had many different titles: He was a son, grandson, brother, athlete, friend, as well as uncle and great uncle to many. But the titles he cherished the most were father, father-in-law and grandfather. He loved to play golf and fish with his son, Nick, and savored time with his grandchildren as well as his daughter-in-law, Kayley.
Bobby is survived by his son Nick (Kayley) Puskarits, his four grandchildren—Madison, Emma, Sadie, and Jax—as well as his three siblings: Sharon (Patrick) Mulvey, Cindy Cooney, and Ron (Paul) Puskarits. Though his family and friends are deeply saddened by his sudden passing, they take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving parents and cherished ones in heaven.
The family of Robert Puskarits welcomes any gesture of remembrance that feels right to you.
