Jeffrey Jones
November 27, 1941 – August 15, 2026
Jeffrey Jones, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2026, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He made his transition from this earthly life to eternal life with his Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, friendship, and cherished memories.
Jeffrey was born on November 27, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Perry Jones and Leslie B. Pope, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Catholic schools and Cincinnati Public Schools.
Jeffrey began a 30-year career as an assembler with General Motors in Norwood, Ohio, and Fisher Body at the Fairfield/Hamilton Plant. He retired in 1988.
On December 24, 1960, Jeffrey was united in holy matrimony to his beloved wife, Minnie Lewis. Their union was blessed with six children—one daughter and five sons. One son preceded him in death. Jeffrey and Minnie shared 53 years of marriage, building a family and a lifetime of memories together.
Jeffrey was a man who never met a stranger. He would always take time to have a conversation with anyone and formed friendships wherever he went. He was a generous and giving person who loved to cook and share his bounty with everyone around him. His warm spirit and willingness to socialize made him a treasured friend to many.
From an early age, Jeffrey developed a love for music and built an extensive collection over the years. His favorite artists included the Temptations. He also enjoyed watching movies and was an avid fan of CSI. Jeffrey had a personality all his own. He could sometimes be stubborn and always seemed to have the “last word,” but those who knew and loved him understood that these qualities were simply part of the man who made so many memories with them.
Jeffrey was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, and a loving presence to countless others. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and cared for. His life was fruitful, full of experiences, relationships, laughter, and love.
Jeffrey leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loyal wife of 53 years, Minnie; his five surviving children, one daughter and four sons; two brothers; two sisters; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends, and other children whom he loved very much.
He also leaves behind two longtime special friends, Willie Thompson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert “Big Butch” Riley of Orlando, Florida, as well as his longtime companion, his beloved dog, P.J., affectionately known as “Baby.”
Though Jeffrey may have lost his “spot” in this world, he will never lose his place in the hearts and memories of those who loved him. Our hearts are heavy because he will be deeply missed, but our spirits can be lifted knowing that Jeffrey is now home, where there is no more pain or burden. May we find comfort in knowing that his love, laughter, and memory will continue to watch over us and live on through the lives of everyone he touched.
Rest peacefully, Jeffrey. You will truly be missed, but you will never be forgotten.
