MILAM Royce RASMUSSEN
Milam Rasmussen, of Portland, Oregon, passed away on September 1, 2026. Born on June 28, 1961, Milam spent his early years in his hometown of Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, as the son of Nathan Lee Rasmussen and Joyce Ladora Stockwell. Throughout his life, he held a unique pride in his family heritage, tracing his ancestry as part of the Danish Royal Family of King Frederic VII and Queen Louise Rasmussen.
Milam attended Reno High School, graduating in 1980, and went on to pursue further studies at Truckee Meadows Community College. He later built a career in hospitality, working at John Ascuagas Nugget Resort and serving primarily at Harrahs Steakhouse. His years of hard work allowed him to retire at the age of 53, opening up a chapter of his life where he could fully enjoy his favorite pursuits and spend time with those he loved.
An hands-on man with a wide variety of interests, Milam loved working on cars, collecting knives, and working on vacuum cleaners. He was an avid fan of the Raiders, and he spent many quiet hours watching Forensic Files and mystery shows. Music was another great source of enjoyment for him: his favorite artists spanned many styles, including The Cars, Ozzy, 2pac, Motley Crue, George straght, TOBET KIETH, and Poison.
More than anything, Milam loved hanging out with family and friends. To those who knew him best, he was a loving father, son, grandpa, and friend. He is survived by his parents, Nathan Lee Rasmussen and Joyce Ladora Stockwell, his children, Milam Royce Rasmussen Jr and Aubra Carl Rasmussen, and his grandchildren, Shaylene Casey Rasmussen, Misty Cierra Rasmussen, Benjermin Royce Rasmussen, Kristi Nichole Rasmussen, Ceder Grimm Rasmussen, and Atlas Rasmussen. His presence, warmth, and steady friendship will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
