Irene Taylor

Irene Taylor was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was filled with love, family, and cherished memories. Born in Green Lake, Saskatchewan, Irene went on to raise a family and eventually shared a wonderful life with her beloved husband, Thomas Wilson Taylor.

Irene and Tom shared an extraordinary love. They were not only husband and wife but also best friends and constant companions. They were truly inseparable, sharing life's joys, challenges, and adventures side by side. Their deep love and devotion to one another were evident to everyone who knew them. Whether travelling, spending time with family, or simply enjoying each other's company, they were happiest together. Their marriage brought together two families, creating a large and loving blended family. Irene was a devoted mother to Edward, Douglas, Teresa, Laura, and Tommy. She also lovingly welcomed and cared for Tom's four children, Eileen, Laura, Teresa, and Isla, embracing them as an important part of her family.

Irene worked for Canada Post before retiring. She and Tom enjoyed many wonderful years of retirement together, travelling, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories.

For more than 20 years, Irene lived with dementia. It was a long and challenging journey, both for her and for everyone who loved her. Through it all, Tom remained by her side, and the bond they shared continued to be a beautiful reminder of their enduring love. Even as the disease changed so much, she remained our mom, and our love for her never changed.

Having experienced the impact of dementia firsthand, our family hopes that supporting Alzheimer's research, education, and compassionate care will help other families facing similar challenges.

Irene passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love and treasured memories.
