Michael William Derrick

Michael William Derrick, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 55, surrounded by family. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, and loyal friend who will be remembered for his big heart, quick wit, and love of life.

Mike had a way of making people laugh wherever he went. He loved joking around, dancing, visiting Atlantic City, trying his luck at the casinos, traveling to Florida, and spending time with friends and family. He had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

For more than 25 years, Mike dedicated himself to the United States Postal Service, working his way from mail carrier to supervisor.

Above all, Mike’s greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Sabrina and Ann, and his beloved grandchildren, Brixton and Banx. His girls were his world, and he would do anything for them.

Mike battled colon cancer for five years, facing many challenges along the way. Cancer was part of his story, but it will never define the man he was.

He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Chico, who passed away just two weeks before him. It brings comfort to imagine the two best friends reunited once again.

Mike will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
