I met Peggy under the polo tent in Tinicum. Her grandpup Bridge at her feet. They both looked very happy. In fact, every time our paths crossed Peggy had a smile on her face. I’m sure Bridget is once again by Peggy’s feet.. receiving an unauthorized treat.
Margaret “Peggy” Cook
Margaret “Peggy” Cook, a beloved resident of Ottsville, Pennsylvania, for 55 years, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 14, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Margaret and Edmund J. Knight, Peggy was raised in the Speedway section of Warminster and graduated from William Tennent High School in 1965.
Above all else, Peggy was a devoted mother and Mom Mom whose greatest joy was her family. She had a heart of gold, always putting others before herself and giving her love so freely. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of so many, and her family was truly the center of her world.
Peggy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved dancing, gardening, spending time with her community, and attending Rod Stewart concerts with her sisters. She cherished family vacations to Sea Isle City, New Jersey, and Topsail, North Carolina, as well as special trips to the mountains and the shore where countless memories were made with the people she loved.
A woman of deep faith, Peggy was a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Ottsville. She loved the Lord, treasured her church family, and was always willing to lend a hand and volunteer whenever she was needed.
For over four decades, she carried on a beloved Christmas Eve tradition by organizing the luminaries along Annawanda Road, bringing warmth, beauty, and holiday spirit to her neighbors. It was a reflection of the thoughtful, caring person she was and the lasting mark she left on her community.
Peggy’s greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind. She will be forever cherished by her daughters, Melissa (Justin) Schleinkofer of Topsail, North Carolina, and Mariah Cook of Ottsville, Pennsylvania; her beloved grandchildren, Evangeline and Maximus Schleinkofer; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis (Tina) Knight of Sidell, Illinois, and Earl Knight of Warminster, Pennsylvania; her sisters, Kathy Mandato of Ottsville, Pennsylvania, and Sandy (John) Morgan of Warminster, Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Knight of Hatboro, Pennsylvania; and her dear friends, who brought so much happiness and joy into her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved older brother, Ed Knight.
The love she gave, the traditions she created, the memories she left behind, and the countless lives she touched will live on through all who knew her.
A celebration of Peggy’s life is being planned for a later date Spring 2027.
