Elaine Garner

Elaine Garner, (Elaine Berry), passed away on August 22, 2026, in Kilgore, Texas, at the age of 72.

Born on January 30, 1954, in Sinton, Texas, to Clifford and Margaret Berry. Elaine was known as a free spirit who could start a conversation with anyone. Those qualities remained a memorable part of her life and the way she connected with people around her. She was loved very much by her daughter, and her presence will be remembered by those who knew her.

Elaine is survived by her two children, her son, Justin Millican of Mount Pleasant, and her daughter, Samantha Brooks, and Samantha’s husband, Cole Brooks. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Evelyn Behlke, Samuel Behlke, Rachael Behlke, and Breanna Behlke; her sister, Lorita Dunahoe of Houston; her brother Jerry Edwards of Dallas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Bell Green, her mother, Margaret Gaston, and her father, Clifford Berry.

Elaine’s life reflects her ability to be warm, her open manner and an easy ability to never meet a stranger. Her family and all who shared in her life carry forward the memory of her distinctive spirit and the place she held in their lives.

Elaine Garner will be remembered with love by her family and with appreciation by those who had the opportunity to know her.
